Brain

Answers you can check.

Turn your reviewed documents into a private knowledge base. Ask questions in your own words: Brain checks every statement against your sources before you see the answer.

How it works

From reviewed documents to verified answers.

Brain works on the documents you have already prepared in Annota AI, so every answer starts from text you have checked.

  1. Choose your sources

Create a Brain from up to 20 document datasets. Each source uses a saved dataset version and includes only approved documents with completed OCR.

  2. Let Brain prepare them

Brain reads every page, writes a summary of each document, and builds a search index. You can leave while preparation runs.

  3. Ask and verify

Ask a question and follow up. Every answer cites its sources: open a reference to see the exact passage on the original page.

Verification

Every statement, traced to a source.

Verified before you read it

Brain reviews each statement against the passages it cites. If a statement is not supported, the answer is revised. If it still cannot be verified, Brain tells you instead of guessing.

Sources down to the passage

Every reference opens the original page and shows the passages used. Read the full document, its summary, or search the complete text.

Kept current, without surprises

Add datasets, remove them, or switch to a newer version. Your current documents stay available until the update is ready, and the original datasets never change.

Questions stay private

Questions and conversation history are not saved: a conversation is cleared when you leave the Brain. Each Brain is visible only to members of your organization.

Work from your AI agent

Bring Brain to your agent.

Through MCP, your agent can search a Brain, read its documents and pages, and ask Brain for a verified answer. Searching and reading use no credits.

Frequently asked questions

Which documents can Brain use?

Approved documents with completed OCR from saved versions of your document datasets, up to 20 datasets per Brain. Brain works with the extracted text: it does not interpret images or charts inside the pages.

How does Brain use credits?

Preparing a document uses 0.5 credits per page, once. Documents already prepared are not charged again when they can be reused. Each answer uses 3 credits. You only pay for answers verified against your documents: if Brain cannot verify an answer or the request fails, the credits are returned. Searching and reading a Brain use no credits.

Can Brain still be wrong?

Verification greatly reduces unsupported statements, but it is automated and cannot find information that was not retrieved. Treat answers as a starting point, open the cited passages, and check important points before relying on them.

Which languages does Brain support?

Brain answers in the language of your question, or in the language you ask for, whatever the language of your documents.

Is Brain available on every plan?

Yes, on every plan, including Enterprise. Brain uses your organization's credit balance; on Team, every member can use the organization's Brains.

What happens to my data?

Brain stores the extracted text, summaries, and search index of the selected documents in your workspace. Questions and conversation history are not saved; a completed answer is kept for up to 24 hours only to recover an interrupted request. Deleting a Brain removes its versions, text, and summaries; your datasets and their versions remain. Privacy & Security explains hosting and providers.
